about

Catalina Del Puerto is a Colombian-born American actress, producer and screenwriter based in Los Angeles and Paris.

Catalina had an uprooted upbringing while residing in seven countries, which inspired her to build a strong connection with her heritage and established the foundations for her cosmopolitan multicultural and multilingual lifestyle. She has Spanish, Latin American, Basque, Italian, and Scotch-Irish ancestry and speaks fluent English, Spanish and French.

While pursuing a degree in International Law, Del Puerto cultivated her passion for Film and the Performing Arts (dance and theatre), laying fertile ground for her career. She made her film debut in the blockbuster action thriller Behind Enemy Lines: Colombia, followed by other brief appearances in various films shot on the island of Puerto Rico, such as The Rum Diary and Runner Runner. During her time in New York City, Catalina studied at New York University - Tisch School of the Arts and The Atlantic Theatre School, and trained with various coaches, including The Actors Studio’s Susan Batson and Elizabeth Kemp, and London’s finest Patsy Rodenburg.

Soon after, she landed her first production job as a Production Assistant at Pimienta Film Co, a Puerto Rican film company dedicated to the development, production and distribution of local and international films. Eventually, her background in Law and her decision-making abilities, earned her the title of Head Producer at Puerto Rico’s main Broadcasting Corporation, GFR Media, where she succeeded in launching Puerto Rico’s first web series, La Agencia. During this time, she developed strong liaisons with Puerto Rico’s major players, including the Puerto Rican Film Commission, with whom she continues to collaborate today.

Through the years, she has worked with top film directors and producers, starred in independent films, been the voice of documentaries and ads, and shot for various brands as a print model. In 2023, Catalina launched her Production Company built to house international film and commercial projects.

Currently, Catalina lives between the United States and Europe, where she continues her work both in front of and behind the cameras, while developing a short film based on the life of Cuban-French writer Anaïs Nin.
